The Leadership Excellence Awards Dinner Gala is the high point of the year. Always an elegant evening, it is the night we honor the changemakers among us: in business, public office, diversity and inclusion. And we always do it in style. Last year’s theme of “Unmasking Excellence. Opening Doors.” was about revealing and acknowledging the quiet heroes who create opportunities for others, without fanfare or applause.
The event actually encompasses two awards, the Leadership Excellence Awards (LEA) and the MBE Input Committee-hosted Corporation of the Year Awards (COTY). The evening draws attendees ranging from community and government dignitaries to corporate executives and minority business owners, with the event culminating in the presentation of two major honors:
The Leadership Excellence Award is presented to an outstanding individual who has significantly advanced diversity efforts within the Southern California community and beyond.
The Corporation of the Year Award is presented to an SCMSDC corporate member that has consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment to diverse entrepreneurs.
